Born in England in 1971, in early school development years, James creative mind was broadened from the education process of a Rudolf Steiner curriculum which is structured around developing early art talent prior to academics. Emigrating from England to West Vancouver, Canada in 1980, James continued on through high school where he was running his first clothing line active wear line at age 15.
After a short stint a community college in 1990 and a short career as a licensed insurance agent, James focused on creating his second company AD Advertising, a multi-service signage and design company in 1992. After a successful few years, James learned the underpinnings of design and running a creative business. 1993 James created ADWeb a small web-dev company providing basic HTML websites to local businesses.
In 1996 James joined Lush Cosmetics Canada to be the Marketing Director and Chief Brand Manager. After a successful run with Lush Cosmetics that now operates 400 + locations in North America, James’s brand innovations still exist a decade later in stores around the world.
In 1999 James joined a Canadian venture capital firm focused on RTO transactions of early stage Dot Com companies in North America. During this time James took the next year sharpening his brand strategy skill-set. Self educating himself with relentless reading of various brand strategists perspectives and concepts on the subject, James combined this new academic knowledge with his learned, real life business into a platform for brand development that lasts throughout today.
In 2001 James established Faulkner Brand Inc., a full service strategic branding firm where his national team serviced accounts, Manulife, AIM Trimark, the Cooperators, Cineplex, Lush Cosmetics, Century 21 Canada, Sutton Real Estate, Cara foods, Harvey’s Restaurants, and many more over the last 10 years. In its height, the company enjoyed successful earnings and kudos from awards and clients. Along with his team James developed web applications for construction and HR systems.
In early 2011 James focused on developing his workflow and technology approach to construction. He developed a field to office mobile and web system for one of Canada’s leading tilt up General contractors Wales McLelland Construction.
In 2014 James founded Sitemax Systems after architecting and developing a mobile and web based system for report in the construction industry. The company was successfully separated from its incubator in on July 2017 and has enjoyed significant growth through North America. James currently holds the position as President, CEO of the company and continues to be a thought leader in the construction software industry where he is called upon by national publications for his opinion in related topics.
